We think it's between 900 to 1000 sq feet.

The house was built in 1950 to his mother's specifications.

It has a LR, DR, kitchen, 2 bedrooms (one had a fireplace in it), a bathroom & an opened living area off of the kitchen (this use to be the 3rd bedroom).

The inside of the house is tongue-n-groove, knotty pine (even the ceilings).

There is a porch that runs across the front of the house.

The house is no longer needed. It must be moved. We would rather sell it then to see it go down as vacant houses tend to do. It must be seen to be appreciated. If you would like to know anything else just ask. 462-6518

The house is still available. I forgot to mention that it has a new metal roof put on it in 1998. The metal was guaranteed for 50 years. So, it still has 39 years to go.

Everyone who has been out to see it has told us that it is well worth the money. You have to see it to appreciate it. 462-6518

Is this house still available for purchase and would it hold up to be moved onto a river lot in Hortense?

Yes, at this moment this house is still available. Although, we still have people interested & coming by to see it.

The house was built in 1950. It appears to be sturdy &  in fairly good condition for an older house. As in all older houses, I am sure it will need some work. Possibly around the kitchen sink area. But, that is not a fact.

The inside is tongue-n-grove, knotty pine, even the ceilings. The metal roof on the house was put on just before his mother passed away in 1998. It's suppose to be guaranteed for 50 years. That being the case, it should be good for another 39 years. We have the same type roof on our house.

There in insulation in the attic.

It use to be a 3 bedroom house. A family of six lived there. After her husband passed away & her children left home, his mother had the back bedroom taken out. She had it made into her own, private sitting area. However, that can be changed back into a bedroom.

You must see it to appreciate it. It is located approx. 3 miles down Baker Creek Road coming from hwy 82 where the GA Forestry is located. It sits on the on the right side of the road across from a gray, single wide mobile home. A double wide mobile home is behind the house. The house is white.

As for if it will stand up to being move,  a couple of people had house mover(s) to come look at it. They said they could move it. So, they believe it's movable.

I'm sorry, I have not checked this site lately.

Some people did have house movers come look at it. I think the price depends on how much trouble it is to move it. If lines or fences have to be taken down or trees along the road has to be cut, etc. From the people who had the movers look at it, the price ranged from $4000.00 to $7000.00. But, like I said, this was their quote to those people. Yours might be less, more or somewhere in the middle. I am only going by what they told me.

We are waiting to hear back this week from someone concerning the house. But, nothing is definite as of yet.
